Usage of Personal Data
We collect, process and use personal data (in accordance with the definitions of the German Federal Data Processing Law) and the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in order to provide our Jimdo Academy Information services.
Any data processed when using this website will be deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose for its storage ceases to exist or has been fulfilled, provided the deletion of the same is not in breach of any statutory storage obligations or unless otherwise stipulated below.
When you visit this website, the Jimdo server automatically saves the information that your browser sends whenever you visit that site. This information includes your request, IP address, browser type and language, and the date and time of your request.
All of the above information is used for analyzing and maintaining the technical operation of the Jimdo servers and network as well as assisting our anti-abuse measures as a whole, pursuant to Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR and our legitimate interest in improving the stability and functionality of our websites. Log-Information is automatically deleted after 7 days.
Contact Form/ Event Registration
If you contact us via the contact form or register your interest for an event, the data you provide will be used for the purpose of processing your request. The legal basis for this data processing is Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. b) GDPR. All data provided will be deleted once we have fully addressed your request and no further legal obligation to store this data exists.
Important Note regarding data processing in connection with Google Analytics™
Google Analytics uses “cookies”, which are text files saved on the site visitor’s computer, to help the website analyze their use of the site. The information generated by the cookie (including the truncated ip address) about the use of the website will normally be transmitted to and stored by Google.
Google Analytics is used exclusively with the extension "_anonymizeIp ()" on this website. This extension ensures an anonymization of the IP address by truncation and excludes a direct personal reference. Via this extension Google truncates the site visitor’s IP address within member states of the European Union or other parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. The IP address, that is provided by the site visitor’s browser in using Google Analytics will not be merged by Google with other data from Google.
On behalf of Jimdo, Google will use the information collected to evaluate the use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide other website and internet related services to Jimdo (Art. 6 (1)( f) GDPR). The legitimate interest in data processing lies in the optimization of this website, the analysis of the use of the website and the adaptation of the content, which is made possible by the provision of the Jimdo statistics function. The interests of the users are adequately protected by the pseudonymization of their data.
Important Note regarding the Use of Launch Darkly
On this, and all Jimdo website, Jimdo uses the services of LaunchDarkly, Catamorphic Co., 405 14th Street, Oakland, CA 94612, USA). LaunchDarkly allows Jimdo to analyze errors and create crash reports in connection with Jimdo websites.
LaunchDarkly has submitted to the EU-US Privacy Shield and thus guarantees that the website visitor's data will be treated according to the regulations of the DSGVO: https://launchdarkly.com/policies/privacy-shield-notice/
The legal basis for the processing is Article 6(1)(f). DSGVO, whereby our legitimate interest lies in the error-free technical provision of our website.

Where the website Visitor exercises their legal right to access, correction or deletion of their personal information, Jimdo may, under certain circumstances in particular where legally obliged to so, refuse to provide such information or refuse to correct or delete your personal information. However, Jimdo will give the reasons in these cases.
Right to Lodge a Complaint
Without prejudice to any other administrative or judicial remedy, the website Visitor has the right to lodge a complaint with a relevant supervisory authority in accordance with Article 77 GDPR, in particular in the Member State of the user’s place of residence, place of work or place of alleged infringement, if the website Visitor is of the opinion that the processing of his personal data has not occurred in accordance with the provisions of the GDPR.
The website Visitor’s information is protected by the Jimdo technical and organizational security measures to minimize risks associated with their loss, misuse, unauthorized access, unauthorized disclosure and alteration of their and all users data. For example, we use firewalls and data encryption, as well as physical access restrictions for our data centers and data access authorization controls.
